Backstory and Inspiration:
The WarPigs is heavily inspired by the brave and heroic efforts of The 369th Infantry Regiment better known as the "Harlem Hell-fighters", my love for HipHop and Mythology.
The idea and concept behind The WarPigs began back in 2013. At the time, I was attending the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) at Fort Belvoir, VA where we spent a lot of time studying military history. It wasn't until reading about the different strategies and tactics of commanders during the Second Punic War that got my thoughts percolating.
During my studies, one of the most interesting things I learned was how critical animals were in determining the outcome of the war. We're all too familiar with how horses were used in a wartime setting but what about cats, dogs, birds, and a host of other creatures within the animal kingdom? Perhaps the most terrifying of them all was the War Elephant (comparable to the modern-day tank). Highly trained elephants, ready to inflict fear against an enemy force. In many cases, these massive beasts decided the outcome of wars.
However, as time went on commanders got better and more creative on the battlefield, adopting different tactics to disrupt these War Elephants by using their own four-legged friends "The War Pig". While coating the backside of these pigs with pitch, tar, or any highly flammable substances, these pigs were set ablaze. The loud squeals on the battlefield would scare these massive elephants causing them to run in fear and trample their own handlers and forces. In today's world, the war on terror (War Elephant) has impacted us all in some shape, form, or fashion. For this project, it was only fitting that the name of my first comic book is called The WarPigs.
We went to Kickstarter and got funded.

This comic story was made possible by the support of our backers through Kickstarter. We want to say thank you for your continued support throughout the process. Moving forward, we aim to improve the quality of the content for you and your family. We are just getting started.

Stage Setter:
For decades, the United States has stood tall as the most versatile,
agile, and effective military in the world. Its Soldiers have shown impeccable mental and physical toughness under fire. However, due
to supporting multiple conflicts abroad, the U.S. can no longer sustain combat operations and must downsize its forces to the smallest it has
been since the Second World War. As the U.S. involvement in the
global conflict is on the decline, a tidal wave of “Pink Slips” has been disseminated and received by tens of thousands of Service Members, forcing them out of the uniform. With the emergence of a new global
threat more potent than conventional forces, a team of Superservants
must come together to restore balance to all of humankind.
About:
WarPigs Issue #1 is a Superservant Comic set in Chocolate City a
decade after 9/11. Despite continuous military operations abroad, the
world still remains in turmoil. A series of unexplained attacks have
claimed the lives of thousands of citizens worldwide and it isn't any
difference in America. People simply act out of the norm resulting in
mass panic, rioting, and religious gatherings.
Oddly enough, U.S. military installations across the country have become targets of opportunity from something or somebody which begs the question. What is going on and why is the military now the focus for elimination?
The President and a small group of his closes advisors secretly gather to discuss a plan to stop these attacks. Will they be successful? Who is the key to leveling the battlefield?
When there is an enemy that likes to play in the mud, you must recruit individuals who like to do the same. It's recruiting season, Victory Starts Here!
